Where you can stay

400+ independent hotels across six continents: Europe 99, North America 17, Asia 14, South America 10, Caribbean 5, Africa 2, Central America 2, Middle East 2.

Leading Hotels of the World is not a hotel company. It is a marketing and standards body for independently owned hotels, which is why its collection reads like a list of the last great family-run houses in Europe: the Gritti Palace, Hotel Sacher, Badrutt's Palace. Roughly ninety-nine of the four hundred are European, which tells you where the tradition is concentrated.

The independence is the appeal and also the caveat. There is no group-wide service standard the way Four Seasons has one, so the collection is a filter rather than a guarantee, and which specific house you choose matters more than it does elsewhere.

These benefits come from the partner programmes this practice belongs to, and they are added to your reservation when we make the booking. They cost you nothing: the rate you pay is the rate you would find yourself. What varies is the property, because each programme sets its own terms and a few of them set them hotel by hotel.
