Kempinski has been operating since 1897 and still feels like it: grand European city houses, the Adlon beside the Brandenburg Gate, the Emerald Palace in Dubai, a ski hotel in St Moritz. It is a smaller estate than the global brands and heavily weighted to Europe, with twelve of its twenty participating hotels there.
