Moored on the Namibian bank of the Chobe, the Zambezi Queen is a floating safari lodge. Its suites open onto private balconies facing the river, and the top deck holds a dining room, a bar and a small plunge pool with a wide view over the floodplain.

The Chobe draws large herds of elephant to drink and swim, along with buffalo, hippo, crocodile and a remarkable range of birds. Guests go out in small tender boats to watch at close range from the water, which gives a different perspective from a vehicle. Fishing for tigerfish and a visit to a local village round out the stay. The boat moves slowly along the river and ties up at night, so sleep is undisturbed by engines.
